The place is also served as an informal community spots when people mingle and engage in conversation over various topics. Random people may join the conversation. Indonesia’s custom of coffee shops’ habits are depicted in many artworks and academic studies. The coffee shops culture reflected one characteristic of Indonesian agricultural culture that is communality. The traditional coffee culture, however, are now in the process of changing due to the arrival of more modern coffee shops. The new coffee shops take models from coffee shops in developed countries such as the United States, France or Japan. The first to change were big cities coffee shops. Gradually, coffee shops in rural areas, such as towns in East Java Province, also imitated the trend. en_US
